Meet the Zoo Crew!

Meet the crew that makes our zoo go ’round! We are so very appreciative of each of our team members and what they have to offer to our business.

Dennis Bacque
President & Owner

Dennis and his wife, Marilyn, bought the property in the early 90's in hopes of a peaceful retirement. Their love of animals quickly turned the retirement into an around-the-clock job. Today, he enjoys watching all of his hard work come to fruition with the help of his family and some very loyal team members. His guidance and perseverance play a huge role in our day-to-day operations!

Marilyn Bacque
Owner

Marilyn is probably the closest being to Snow White you'll find in real life. Her connection to animals is something truly remarkable. Marilyn especially loves taking in and caring for any little babies when they need special attention, this allows her to create an unbreakable bond. These days, she's most likely running the day-to-day errands, but on busy weekends, you'll still be charmed by her sweet character in the gift shop!

Donavan Trahan
Co-Owner and Manager

Donavan is the son of Dennis and Marilyn, the owners! He has dedicated the better half of his life to the park, having first started as a Ranch Hand in 2001. Consistently taking on more hats, Donavan has graduated to General Manager and Co-Owner as he takes on each aspect of the business in stride. His dedication to the animals, our patrons and the park's success is a huge factor in who we are today.

Kayli Trahan
Assistant Manager

Kayli started giving Guided Tours back in 2012, as a mere 14-year-old. Working through summers, weekends and holidays, she graduated with a business degree from Sam Houston State University in the spring of 2020. This allowed her to come back to the park full-time and assist her family with all things ZOO! You'll find Kayli running anything from marketing and social media to mucking stalls or assisting with vet care. On busy holidays or weekend, you may even snag her as your tour guide. Buckle up for a wild ride with Kayli!

Donna McManus
Tour Guide

Donna joined our zoo crew in September of 2009. She quickly took on any and all sorts of projects we throw at her! Her job title is a Tour Guide, however, she's not afraid to get dirty with the Ranch Hands on the ground level. We are so appreciative of her dedication and willingness to take care of any project. Customers always leave with a fond memory from Donna, as she really is one of the most charismatic people ever!

Nicole Scheisl
Tour Guide

Nicole took on all things zoo back in 2016. Over the years, she's proven her dedication and knowledge by continuing to take on responsibility here at the park. Currently, she lives on-site with her husband so that she can attend to our overnight visitors, but during the day she has no problem going 90mph to make sure all projects are completed and all animals are attended to. We are so thankful for her and the asset she is to our team!

Logan Cantwell
Lead Ranch Hand

Logan is THE guy when it comes to any sort of maintenance or animal care. He can operate any sort of equipment or machinery to take on heavy projects, then turn around and be the most tedious and careful with the small jobs. He is dedicated to helping our park grow to the best it can be while providing amazing animal care and creating unique memories for visitors. We couldn't be prouder to have him as our lead Ranch Hand!

Gabby Martinez
Ranch Hand & Tour Guide

Gabby is one of the most well-rounded zoo crew members. She is technically a Ranch Hand, but also trained in the gift shop and as a Tour Guide. This means, you may find Gabby welding out in the pasture... or, you may be lucky enough to be charmed by her on a Guided Tour. Gabby is an incredible asset and we're so lucky to have her as a member of our zoo family.

Logan Giles
Ranch Hand

Logan became a Ranch Hand in the Fall of 2019. He is a true animal whisperer and thoroughly enjoys getting to work with such beautiful creatures. When he's not cuddling an animal, he's doing all the odds and ends that make this place run. Logan is the kindest person you'll ever meet, and we are thrilled to have him aboard.

Tuesdey Nesby
Tour Guide

Tuesdey is our newest Tour Guide! Having been here just a few weeks, she's already received rave reviews from our visitors. Her outgoing and bubbly personality is so charming and we are sure you'd love to take a tour with her as your guide. Tuesdey is eager to learn, and we have so much to teach her!

Olivia Trahan
Tour Guide

Olivia is part of the family, and she just started giving tours! Having grown up at the park, she knows all the odds and ends. She may be young, but Olivia definitely knows her stuff when it comes to these animals and how to have an incredible experience at the park. Once school is out for the summer, she'll be taking on full-time and we're ecstatic to have her here more often!

Tammy Norris
Tour Guide

Miss Tammy is technically retired... However, she just could not stay away. JK. But seriously, she was kind enough to offer her assistance again due to the nationwide staffing shortage. Tammy is a member of the OG Zoo Crew, having first became a Tour Guide in the 90's. She is one of our go-to gals and we are so excited to have her back for a bit. You'll be charmed by her knowledge and sweet, genuine presence!

Ann Reeves
Tour Guide

Ann is a long-time companion of our owners, Marilyn and Denis. She is also in the animal industry and did not hesitate to offer her assistance when we announced that we were hiring for the summer season of 2022. Miss Ann is eager to jump on a tour and cruise you through all of our babies. She's not afraid to "talk your ear off" and provide some of the best entertainment along the way. We are thankful for the time she spends here at the park and would not trade it for the world!
