Home of the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas. The “Sit and Sip” Tour is a guided walk of the ranch-distillery with detailed information about bourbon whiskey and the history of Garrison Brothers. The cooks and distillers will explain the process from “corn to cork.” You’ll smell the sweet corn cooking, taste sweet mash, and observe the fermenting distiller’s beer. You’ll tour the legendary stillhouse and sample high proof “white dog” right from the stills. Finally, you’ll tour the barrel barn for a small sample of our limited release. This tour takes about an hour.
In the beautifully restored Withers-Spaulding Building, the Chamber has brochures, maps, free broadband Wi-Fi, and friendly Visitors Assistants to help you with local information. This Center is new and is starting to house an impressive collection of displays and images from past and present. The National Park Service co-locates with us and has outstanding historic displays and LBJ park information. This Chamber Visitors Center is not to be missed in Johnson City!
Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park tells the story of our 36th President beginning with his ancestors until his final resting place on his beloved LBJ Ranch. Trace the ancestry and heritage of President Lyndon B. Johnson as well as his birth, childhood, political career, retirement, and death.
Drive on into the shaded parking area and explore 3½ acres of lavender – including various gardens including butterfly garden, biblical garden, or the variety garden with 70 different types of lavender, as well as a developing meditation area. Also, stop in the gift shop for a sample of the lavender margarita mix and lavender peach salsa…and make sure you don’t forget to visit the U-PIC berry patch!
Water activities include swimming, fishing, wading or tubing in the Pedernales. Other options are picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, and horseback riding! There are also camping options if you aren’t staying with us at our zoo safari cabins this trip!

A STEM-based learning experience that has numerous exhibits and games to inspire the youth of today to discover scientific and technical principles through immersive experiences and interactive games (in English or Spanish).
The museum also includes a 3D theater (check their hours here), as well as a dining option at the Lady Bird Lane Cafe, a small farm-to-table restaurant that offers lunches using local and regional organic and all-natural ingredients.
