Johnson City Chamber: Visitor’s Center

In the beautifully restored Withers-Spaulding Building, the Chamber has brochures, maps, free broadband Wi-Fi, and friendly Visitors Assistants to help you with local information. This center is new and is starting to house an impressive collection of displays and images from past and present. This Chamber Visitor’s Center is not to be missed in Johnson City!

Hill Country Science Mill

A STEM-based learning experience that has numerous exhibits and games to inspire the youth of today to discover scientific and technical principles through immersive experiences and interactive games (in English or Spanish).

The museum also includes a 3D theater (check their hours here), as well as a dining option at the Lady Bird Lane Cafe, a small farm-to-table restaurant that offers lunches using local and regional organic and all-natural ingredients.

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park tells the story of our 36th President beginning with his ancestors until his final resting place on his beloved LBJ Ranch. Trace the ancestry and heritage of President Lyndon B. Johnson as well as his birth, childhood, political career, retirement, and death.

Miller Creek Lavender Farm

Drive on into the shaded parking area and explore 3½ acres of lavender – including various gardens including butterfly garden, biblical garden, or the variety garden with 70 different types of lavender, as well as a developing meditation area.  Also, stop in the gift shop for a sample of the lavender margarita mix and lavender peach salsa… and make sure you don’t forget to visit the U-PIC berry patch!

Pedernales Falls State Park

Water activities include swimming, fishing, wading or tubing in the Pedernales.  Other options are picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, and horseback riding!  There are also camping options if you aren’t staying with us at our safari cabins this time!

Since 1963, producing jerky at the factory next door to our General Store and gift shop.
